Polling Volunteers
We are looking for people to work the polls on November 8th. Polls are open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM and we would like to have someone at each of the 22 polling locations during the early morning (6:30-9:00 AM), over lunch (11:00 AM-1:00 PM), and in the late afternoon/evening (3:00-7:30 PM).
Working the polls means standing outside the polling location and holding up a VOTE YES For Fairfield Schools sign. You can also encourage people to vote yes as they walk in, thank people for coming out to vote, and answer any questions they may have.
If you are not comfortable speaking out that is ok – just your presence with a VOTE YES sign will be helpful. Many people will already know how they are voting as they come in but some may not – the presence of levy supporters could make the difference in their vote....and in the election. We are asking people to work 2-hour shifts but if you can only work an hour, we’ll take it!
If you have small children who will be home that day consider teaming up with a friend to take turns working the polls and entertaining the kids. If you have to work please consider helping out before or after work. If you would like to work a location with a friend we will accommodate that as well. High school students are welcome to work the polls but we do ask that an adult be present as well. We need around 70 volunteers so please consider helping out!!
Also, we will be placing Vote Yes signs at each polling location and we need people to collect those signs once the election is over (after 7:30 on November 8th). There are 22 locations so we need one person per location to collect the signs. We will be saving the signs so we will make arrangements to get the signs from you shortly thereafter.
If you are willing to help out with either or both of these requests fill out the following information and send to Michelle Gallo at [email protected].
